The 1992 Presidential Campaign
With all the experience of the Mayors campaign behind me I decided to run for President in 1992. This was truly to be the most exciting voyage of my career. Jen Wilner, my campaign manager, and I went to the New Hampshire primary freezing our butts off on one corner, while standing across from "Buchannan's Brigade" on one corner, Tsongas' group on another, and Harkin's group on the third.

On top Jen cleaning up between campaign events, and on the bottom, I am freezing my ass off in New Hampshire, surrounded by the competition. For a week or so I campaigned dilligently and then went home and warmed up.
Republican Convention
The Stage across from the Astrodome.
In the year and a half of campaigning, my campaign manager Jen and I, went to both the Democratic convention and the Republican convention, at which I sat on a toilet across from the Huston Astrodome and spoke to thirteen park police rangers sitting in Golf carts while I sat with my pants down, reviewing my platform.

Democratic Convention
At the Democratic convention I hit the floor running (from security) and made a lasting impression on anyone who happened to bump into me.
On The Road
I campaigned in Boston and won over at least one supporter.

The campaign was so exhausting that I needed to rest often!
On the Way to University of New Hampshire, I was stopped and questioned in Manchester
For the length of the campaign, about two years, I spoke at over twenty different schools about the importance of voting. Obviously they would have never had me come and speak if I had just been asking them to vote for me and give me money. ( I didn't have to worry). The schools included: University of New Hampshire, Maryland, American, Georgetown, George Washington, Towson State, James Madison, Washington and Lee. Some didn't ask me to speak and I just showed up and spoke anyway. Sometimes I didn't have much to say but I looked funny so that went a long way and in the end if they got a couple signed posters I got away without being carried away physically.
At a motel in New Hampshire, Jen and I bumped into the most creative guy in politics.....Mike Evans. Needless to say the Primary was a lot more fun!
